¿Qué responsabilidad tiene como Presidenta de la Asociación de Cónyuges Diplomáticos?

A la Presidenta le corresponde la iniciativa más directa en las actividades de la Asociación, y tendrá las siguientes atribuciones y deberes:

a)      Presidir las Asambleas Generales y el Directorio.

b)      Representar judicial y extrajudicialmente a la corporación, quedando facultada para otorgar poderes especiales en casos determinados.

c)      Firmar los documentos oficiales de la entidad.

d)      Ejercitar la supervigilancia de todo lo concerniente a la marcha de la institución y la fiel observancia de los estatutos y de los acuerdos de las asambleas generales y del directorio.

1.-What are the responsibilities of the president of the ACD

The president is in charge of following up on the association activities, the position has the following attributions and duties

1. Preside the General Assemblies and the Executive Board.
2. Legal representative of the association
3. Signing of official documents of the association
4. Following up on the development of the association and the compliance of its bylaws and the agreements reached at the general assemblies

2.- ¿Cuantas personas participan, y que labores desempeñan?

La Asociación tiene al día de hoy 47 miembros los cuales pagan su membresía por un año para pertenecer a la asociación, la cual está encabezada por una junta directiva conformada por los siguientes cargos:

Primera Vicepresidente de la Asociación: Koko Nikai , esposa del Embajador de Japón

2.- How many people participate in ACD and what are their functions

To this day, the association has 47 members that pay a one-year fee, directing the ACD is the executive board of five members

2. Vice president Koko Nikai, wife of the Ambassador of Japan

In charge of the International Bazar and the edition of the cookbook “From Our Tables to Yours”

1. Treasurer Susan MacLeod, wife of the Defense Attaché at The United Kingdom Embassy

3.- ¿Que organismos apoyan y con qué ayuda?

La ACD apoya instituciones que envían sus solicitudes de ayuda para diferentes tipos de proyectos, dependiendo de los ingresos generados de las actividades realizadas con el fin de apoyarlos la junta define en que forma serán distribuidas las ayudas.

Durante el año 2015 se realizaron tres actividades que permitieron adquirir recursos para apoyar las instituciones:

a)      Gala Diplomática: Realizada el 26 de septiembre con la asistencia de 358 personas, se generaron ganancias por 14 millones de pesos

b)      Bazar Internacional: Realizado el 28 de noviembre, congrego a 31 países que ofrecieron en el parque Inés de Suarez muestras de su cultura a través del baile, la comida y la artesanía. Hasta el seis de diciembre se contabilizan ganancias por 26 millones de pesos

c)      Libro de Cocina: Coordinado por la señora Kyoko Nikai, se edito un libro con recetas de 41 países aportadas por sus Embajadas para conmemorar los 25 años del bazar internacional. El libro fue financiado con el apoyo de patrocinadores externos y hasta el cinco de diciembre se han vendido 1.146 copias.

Con estos recursos se vieron beneficiadas las siguientes instituciones

Hogar San Pedro Apóstol: Centro de día de ancianos

Amigos de Jesús: Centro de niños discapacitados

Miradas Compartidas: Apoyo a jóvenes discapacitados

Pequeño Cottolengo: Centro de personas discapacitadas

Santuario Nacional de Maipú:

Jardín Infantil Cristo Vive: Jardín de niños con escasos recursos

Fundación Distonia: Apoyo a personas que sufren de esta enfermedad ( un síndrome neurológico incapacitante que afecta al sistema muscular afectando la tonicidad de un determinado grupo muscular en forma parcial o generalizada)

Hogar Clemente Díaz: Centro de ancianos en extrema pobreza

Fundación Las Rosas: Centro de atención a ancianos

3.- What institutions does the ACD support and with what help

The ACD receives request for support from all kinds of institutions. Depending on the profit made by the different activities through the year the executive board decides how will it be distributed.

During 2015 three activities allowed the ACD to receive contributions for helping the institutions:

1. Diplomatic Gala: Held on September 26^th with the assistance of 358 guests, the profit of the event was 14 million Chilean pesos.
2. 25^th International Bazar: Held on November 28^th, it gathered 31 countries that had the opportunity to present their countries with their dances, gastronomy and crafts. Profits for this event are nearly 26 million Chilean pesos.
3. Cookbook “From Our Tables to Yours”: Coordinated by Mrs. Koko Nikai, this book contains the recipes of 41 countries chosen by their Embassies in Chile. The book was funded with private sponsor support and up until the first week of December 1.146 copies had been sold.

Cursos de restauración Universidad de Chile: The ACD paid for the course, the students don´t have enough resources to attend to it.

4.- ¿Los organismos beneficiados reportan avances, cuáles?

Por supuesto, hemos realizado muchos trabajos estructurales en muchas fundaciones, no son ayudas pequeñas, son ayudas macro, es decir, hemos reparado la estructura física de los lugares y las hemos adaptado para personas con discapacidad. Cada año la ACD se hace más conocida por lo que reunimos más fondos y más auspiciadores y así avanzamos más en materia de construcción.

4.-¿The beneffited institutions present reports of their activities?

Of course, we have made many structural works in many foundations and those are not small contributions, they are macro aids, ie, we have repaired the physical structure of places and we have adapted them for the disabled people. Each year the ACD becomes more known and for that reason we collect more funds and sponsors and so move more in construction.

5.- ¿Cuáles son los resultados del Bazar Diplomático ACD del 2015, el N°25?

La edición XXV del Bazar, mostró la integración del cuerpo diplomático con la sociedad chilena, a través de la comida típica, la artesanía y el folklore de cada país representado en el evento.  Además este año celebramos el aniversario del Bazar con la publicación de nuestro primer libro “De Nuestras Mesas a la Tuya”. Quienes adquieran el libro, tendrán en sus casas las recetas y cultura culinaria de 41 países y el espíritu del Bazar Internacional los 365 días del año.

Participaron 31 países y se recogieron ganancias por 26 millones de pesos las cuales serán destinadas a apoyar las instituciones ya mencionadas.

5.- International Bazar results

The 25th edition of the international bazar showed the integration of the diplomatic community with the Chilean society through gastronomy, crafts and the folklore presented by each country during the event. Also, this year the ACD celebrated the bazars anniversary with the publication of its first book “From Our Tables to Yours”. The people who buy the book will have at their houses the recipes and culinary culture of 41 countries and the spirit of the bazar during the 365 days of the year.

31 countries participated in the International Bazar and the profit, close around 26 million Chilean pesos will be destined to the already mentioned institutes.

6.- ¿Han considerado incorporar a los cónyuges de los Cónsules Honorarios en la regiones del país Punta Arenas por ejemplo?.

Estamos en Santiago considerando que la Asociación está conformada sólo por Esposas de Diplomáticos formales registrados en el Minsiterio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile.

6.- Has the ACD considered the incorporation of the spouses of the honorary cónsuls located in áreas outside Santiago, Punta Arenas, for example.

We are here in Santiago considering the Association is only with formal diplomats wives registered in Foreign Affairs Ministry of Chile.

7.- .¿Cuál será su  legado en Chile, y en la ACD Internacional?

La ACD es ahora Internacional debido a que los miembros son esposas de diplomáticos de diferentes partes del mundo. El objetivo principal de la Asociación es ayudar a la sociedad acá en Chile…realizar un intercambio cultural y aprender de la cultura chilena.

7.-¿What will be your legacy for Chile and the ACD international?

ACD is already an International because the members are diplomats spouses form different parts of the world. The aim of the Association is helping the society here in Chile…doing a cultural exchange and learning from Chilean culture.
