EPA’s IRIS NRC Recommendations Workshop Agenda Now Available

(In-Person Registration Closes October 8, 2014)
EPA has identified several recommendations from the 2014 NRC report that warrant further discussion with the public and scientific community. These specific recommendations are categorized under three broad topics and will be discussed at a public workshop on October 15-16, 2014, in Arlington, VA and also available by webinar. You may also continue to provide feedback on the discussion questions at any time using our blog post. This will allow the discussion to begin before the workshop convenes. Draft IRIS Assessment of Benzo[a]pyrene Released for External Peer Review
EPA has released the external peer review draft of the IRIS assessment of benzo[a]pyrene for review by EPA’s Science Advisory Board (SAB) Chemical Assessment Advisory Committee (CAAC). Preliminary Materials for Diisobutyl Phthalate and Butyl Benzyl Phthalate
Are Now Available on the December IRIS Bimonthly Public Science Meeting Webpage
EPA has released preliminary materials for the IRIS health assessments of diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) and butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP). DIBP and BBP will be discussed during the December IRIS Bimonthly Public Science meeting on December 15-16, 2014. More details, including information on how to register and a meeting agenda, will be available at a later date. Child-Specific Example Exposure Scenarios Report:
A Companion Document to the Exposure Factors Handbook Is Now Available
EPA has released the Child-Specific Example Exposure Scenarios report. This report is intended to be a companion document to the Child-Specific Exposure Factors Handbook. The example scenarios were compiled from questions and inquiries received from users of the Child-Specific Exposure Factors Handbook on how to select data from the Handbook to assess childhood exposures. IRIS Program Prepares to Discuss Preliminary Materials for DINP and Cr6+ October IRIS Bimonthly Public Science Meeting (Oct. 29-30)
EPA has released preliminary materials for diisononyl phthalate (DiNP) and the second set of preliminary materials for hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) for public comment and discussion during the October IRIS Bimonthly Public Science meeting. Due to the large number of studies available pertaining to the IRIS assessment of hexavalent chromium, EPA released the preliminary materials in two parts. In April 2014, EPA released the first set of preliminary materials and they were discussed during the June IRIS Bimonthly Public Science Meeting. The second set of preliminary materials for Cr6+ will be discussed at the October Bimonthly Public Science meeting. The preliminary materials will be used to inform the development of the draft IRIS assessments of DiNP and Cr6+. Registration for the meeting is open. EPA Releases Draft IRIS Assessment of Ethylene Oxide for
External Peer Review
EPA has released the draft IRIS assessment of ethylene oxide (EtO) for external peer review by EPA’s Science Advisory Board (SAB) Chemical Assessment Advisory Committee (CAAC). The SAB staff office has announced two meetings of the SAB CAAC, augmented for the review of EtO: a public teleconference (09/30/2014) and a face-to-face meeting (11/18-20/2014). Have general comments for the IRIS Program?
